Frank Gormley - Chairman
Frank has a business degree from UCD and qualified as a CA with KPMG in Dublin. He is a business strategist and entrepreneur and has worked extensively in Ireland, UK and SA. He has formed business partnerships across a range of businesses, in Canada, USA, Poland, UK, India, Japan and SA.

Frank was cofounder of the Rainbow Academy, International Housing Solutions, led the development of Mandela Rhodes Place, The Taj and 106 Adderley, kickstarting the redevelopment of the Cape Town CBD. He is currently director and shareholder in several hotels and other businesses in the Cape.

Eric Mwepu – Acting Hon. Treasurer
Anthony Tattan – Technology & BPO
In his current role Anthony is the Commercial Director for IP Telecom, a successful Irish Cloud Telecommunications company who in late 2019 launched a sister company in South Africa which he heads up the channel partner acquisition and development program. Having previously ran his own BPO company in Ireland outsourcing sales and marketing intelligence to technology and telecommunications companies, Anthony developed an extensive network of high-net-worth technology experts and resources in Ireland and more recently in South Africa. Following successful roles in IT training, software sales and management, Anthony developed his knowledge and skills under the business coaching and mentoring franchise ActionCoach Ireland before moving to BPO and Cloud Telecommunications. A frequent visitor to Cape Town and Johannesburg, Anthony has forged strong business ties in the technology sector in South Africa while overcoming various challenges associated with international expansion. Anthony represents BICT from his home base in Ireland.
Liam MacGabhann – Governments, Affiliates & Leads
Representing Ireland as Ambassador to South Africa from 2014 to 2019 Liam has worked to forge diplomatic, economic and social bonds between Ireland and South Africa. He is well versed on developments in international, political and trade, as well as regulatory issues. Liam joined BICT in 2020 and brings with him a wealth of experience and insight into all aspects of Irish-South African links.
Julie-May Ellingson – Member lead. Tourism, Sport & Hospitality
Julie-May is an award-winning CEO, experienced boardroom executive, and accomplished public speaker. Julie-May served as the CEO of both the Cape Town, and Durban, International Convention Centres. Prior to this, she headed up Durban’s 2010 FIFA World Cup team, where she was responsible for the successful delivery of several large-scale strategic projects with a cumulative value of over €765m. Julie-May recently moved from Cape Town to Ireland, represents the BICT in Dublin and brings her wealth of experience to the BICT panel of experts.
Roxanne Smith – Marketing & Social Media
Roxanne is the Marketing & Business Development Manager of the exciting Cape Business Centre in the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town. She delivers a range of services from marketing & design to virtual office solutions and outsourced consulting. Roxanne graduated Cum Laude from the revered Stellenbosch University in 2017 and embarked on a series of projects in hospitality and branding.

Having developed and successfully implemented the marketing strategy for the highly regarded Beluga restaurant in Cape Town, Roxanne has recently relocated to Ireland in early 2020 sharing her time between Cape Town and Dublin. A true believer in the “work from anywhere” philosophy, she really does walk the walk and leads by example in a modern global workplace environment.

Claire O’Gormon – Hon. Sec
Claire began her career in the hospitality industry working in some of Dublins’ finest hotels having graduated from the Dublin Institute of Technology.
Claire relocated to Cape Town in 2010, where she has worked in the field of Quality Assurance for contact centres; both captive and BPO, across South Africa. During this time, Claire worked with clients from the UK and US on start-up contact centres in Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town.
Claire brings her unique blend of experience to the BICT panel.
Andrew Pigott – Energy, Engineering & Finance
Andrew graduated with a first class honours degree in Law and Accounting from the Queen’s University of Belfast. Upon completion of his degree he worked for one of the big four accountancy firms, qualifying as a CA in May 2010. He is now an FCA, having completed ten years work experience as a Chartered Accountant.

He works as Business Development Director for A.J. Power Limited an engineering company based on the Emerald Isle. They have a South African based distributor called FGW Generators, located in Cape Town, that distributes the A.J. Power branded product in South Africa and the surrounding countries. The company’s primary focus is power engineering, supplying generating sets to the likes of data centres, mining operations and telecoms companies. They also invest heavily in research and development of emission reduction programs with the focus of providing commercially viable solutions.
